DVHS JAZZ FESTIVAL
Various ensembles of middle and high school students representing New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania were rated by three distinguished judges/clinicians and received brief instructions. The winners were announced by the end of the day. video

BEASTS OF GOD AND MAN Duo Custos & Tracy Cowart, mezzo-soprano
Music and songs from the 13th and 14th centuries about various beasts, including donkeys, pythons, panthers, and a whole host of winged creatures. The kaleidoscope of medieval sounds produced by the authentic wind and string instruments. Works by Jacopo da Bologna, Johannes Ciconia, Francesco Landini, and others. see video clips

YOUTHFUL STRENGTH Vera String Quartet
After winning the 2018 Astral Foundation’s National Auditions and the St. Lawrence Award at the Wigmore Hall Competition in England, these musicians have established themselves as rising stars.. Their program included cherished masterpieces by Josef Haydn and Felix Mendelssohn, and a contemporary work by American composer Jessie Montgomery.

The renowned former leader of the legendary Borodin and Tokyo string quartets, and Yosif Feigelson, KSAP's artistic director, performed duets by the great Ludwig van Beethoven, Handel/Halvorsen and Zoltan Kodaly, as well as a surprise piece by Rheingold Gliere. video clips

FRENCH NOSTALGIA Tatiana Eva-Marie and Avalon Band Trio

MUSIC MEETS VISUAL ART in We Can Learn by CreArtBox
Musicians and visual artists/designers of a NYC-based nonprofit are combining their efforts to further enhance the concert experience. CreArtBox founder, flutist and visual artist, Guillermo Laporta, was joined by violist Matthew Cohen, pianist Josefina Urraca and visual designer Tao Ho in works by Mozart, Schumann, Tatiana Nikolayeva and Brian Wisocki. The trio also offered a master class and a presentation at DVHS. video

The young and talented saxophone players from Hartford, Connecticut performed music by Gabriel Pierné, Samuel Barber and Astor Piazzolla, as well as contemporary American composers Zach Browning, Michael Daugherty, Russell Peck, and John Mackey. CHRISTMAS A CAPELLA Calmus Ensemble Leipzig
Greatly admired across the globe, these outstanding German singers supposed to bring to Milford a two part program spanning eight centuries and numerous cultures: "Christmas Then and Now" and "Carols From All Over The World". The artists failed to receive their work visas in time for their U.S. tour and it was cancelled. video greetings
