Irish-Americans John Haggerty and Mike DeAngelis have been performing Irish music together since 1979. In 2013, they founded their newest band, GET UP JACK, a culmination of nearly four decades of musical performances together and with other well-known bands, playing in the US and Ireland.

In another homage to the greatest composer, Mikhail Elizaveta Kopelman and KSAP’s artistic director, Yosif Feigelson, played chamber music masterpieces while explaining history behind the music.

CLASSICS IN BRASS: The Imperial Brass

Called One of the Best Kept Secrets in New Jersey, this expert ensemble showcased arrangements of classical music, operatic favorites, and patriotic band repertoire. The musicians also offered an online workshop for students of DVHS.

MEET AL CHEZ!

Well known for playing trumpet for over 25 years (!) on Late Night and The Late Show with David Letterman, Al formed his own Brothers of Funk Big Band back in 2008. He offered impressive video clips spiced up with live comments. On November 5, Al conducted an online workshop for the students of DVHS.

IN A HOLIDAY MOOD:  Highline Vocal Jazz

A much in-demand, NYC-based a cappella ensemble offered a happy roller-coaster of styles from 19th-century hymns to 20th-century jazz and Broadway standards to pop hits. Singers also commented on their selection and the career.
