Got That Swing! The Art of the Solo

Joseph Boga, trumpet with The Joseph Boga Nonet                    

Revered jazz musician came back to the area with his colleagues for a student workshop and an open concert. The swing era and alternative jazz genres through the prism of a soloist. The concert will include an appearance by DVHS Jazz Combo.     website   video clip

When Art Meets Music: 20th-Century Progress and Destruction

Mikhail Kopelman, violin, Elizaveta Kopelman, piano, and Yosif Feigelson, cello.

A former leader of the legendary Borodin and Tokyo string quartets was joined by his pianist-daughter and KSAP's artistic director. Music by Rachmaninov, Kodaly and Shostakovich, accompanied by projected paintings by Picasso, Matisse, Kandinsky, Chagall, others.      concert video

Soul of the Balkans: The Noga Group led by Avram Pengas                 

One of the most popular ethnic ensembles in NYC  delighted the audience with colorful music, song and dance from Serbia, Greece, Macedonia, Turkey, and other countries of the region.     website   concert video

Bees, please! Englewinds Ensemble                                                            

This program related to the disappearance of bees has been emblematic of this award winning eco-ensemble. Their selection included works by Chopin, Rimsky-Korsakov, MacDowell, and others.      website    video

Joyeux Noël: Avalon Jazz Band
